its starts off perfect then by the time i wake up its coming off at the corners. i dont move that much in bedHow do i make the fitted sheet stay on the bed?
Sounds like your sheets are not quite the right size for your bed. There is a lot of variation in the size of single, double and queen size beds, and some of the fitted sheets are not as deep as they need to be to accommodate the mattress properly, so they slip off. Measure the depth of your mattress, then when you buy new sheets, make sure you buy sheets that are the correct depth, as well as width and length. How do i make the fitted sheet stay on the bed?
The easiest, non-sewing fix I can think of is to get yourself a pair of suspenders, that are pretty stretchy and have clips that hold them to the pants. Clip one of the four clips to each of the four corners of the fitted sheet (under the mattress, of course). This should provide enough tautness to keep the sheet on the bed. You could probably get a pair of suspenders at a second-hand store for next to nothing.
They also sell little bands specifically for this purpose, that you clip on to the four corners of the fitted sheet and slip those around the mattress.
If you're willing to sew, you can buy some thick elastic and sew about a foot of elastic at each corner of the fitted sheet, to make a sort of loop you can put around the mattress to keep the sheet in place.
Or, you could just buy better sheets. :)
Get different sheets. The ones you have are either too old or else not fitting right. Sometimes i get the King size sheets for my Queen size bed because my mattress is really thick! And with the part that hangs i just tuck really tight under like you would do the flat sheets! Hope it helps, but i do think there are gadgets you can purchase (bed, bath %26amp; beyond) that actually make the fitted sheet stay in place! Good Luck!
do hate it when that happens, feels like you're sleeping on a ball of laundry. try getting mattress pad, that's what i did with this problem and it worked out well. it adds a little softness underneath but provides a slip proof surface for your sheets. if it continues to come off then the elastic in the sheet may not be any good.
go to wal mart and get the straps that hold them on..or get the sheets with deep sides.....I make sure the sheet is well under the mattress and pull it tight...but some sheets just do not have enough elastic to stay on.
With the life of a good sheet being about 40 years it might be worth it to put more elastic.
Do you have a single bed and double sheets? Something is not right. Fitted sheets hug the bed corners rather tightly and will NOT come off during the night I promise you if you have the correct size.
I have worked in hotels and hospitals and believe me something you are doing is not right!
Don't buy sheet suspenders or that other gimmicky stuff. Get some good sheets from dreamfit. They are Guaranteed to Fit %26amp; Guaranteed to Stay On.
