Take and lay the sheet out flat.
Stand at the sheet like your on a narrow edge (like the head or foot of bed)
Grab one corner and bring it up and tuck it into the other corner and do the same on the other narrow edge.
Bring one pair of tucked together corners to the other pair and tuck them inside each other.
Then you take the edge opposite the corners and fold it to the bottom of the elastic and then flip it over once more and you have a perfect rectangle. same way it was folded in the package when you bought it.

Great answer! My wife and I are certified job trainers for DD and MI individuals. My wife taught how to clean hotel/motel rooms. This is exactly how it was done!

However, there is an easier and better way.

Bottom to top, those corners neatly inside each other, seams matching, fingers wide to fan them flat as possible. Then those four corners into each other with the same care. Then lay what you have, flat, smoothing the remaining sides flat.
Bring the four corners into the middle, smoothing again. Lay your sides atop them, one by one. You'll end with the closest to your grandmother's perfect square that I know.
I can't fold them as well as my mother either. I put the two fitted ends together, then fold in half again, but overlap the folded crease so it covers the fitted end, then continue folding like a regular sheet. Wow, this is really hard to explain! Maybe there is a video on youtube or something, If not Martha Stewart should make one!
I gave up on this and i just crumple it into a ball and throw it on the shelf. It is just going to get wrinkled anyway when you put it on the bed. I find it too frustratin trying to fold it perfectly. All my other sheets, towels, shirts, are always folded nicely so the bedsheet is my one exception. Typical guy I guess.
Easy !
You do it carefully! LOL
Start by folding the sheet in half. You will have two fitted corners that are in each hand.
Then fold your four corners together. When this is done, You will need to invert three of the corners into the first one. This forms a pocket with the corners. Then I shake the sheet out to remove the wrinkles, fold the one side of the corners just past the perpendicular other side. That should lay the sheet flat. Then fold just like a top sheet.
They say that ';nothing is impossible';. I say, that no human being can fold a fitted sheet. It's impossible. I fold the flat sheets into squares and roll the fitted sheets into balls and stuff 'em in the sheet drawer.
hold the sheet in front of you with one had sticking under the corners where the elastic is then fold in half and stick these corners over the corners on your hands.lay the sheet down fold the side that looks rounded to make a straight line. then fold.
