How can I convert a flat sheet into a fitted one?

I've been given quite a few flat sheets and would like to convert some to fitted. Any suggestions? I'll use a few to make curtains and pillow cases also. What else can I use them for?How can I convert a flat sheet into a fitted one?
I worked as a hotel maid once, and all we used were flat sheets for top and bottom. All you do is tuck a flat sheet around the mattress using hospital corners. How can I convert a flat sheet into a fitted one?
You can just use the flat sheet for the bottom sheet - fitted sheets are actually a relatively new invention. Just bring the sheet up to the top of the mattress, use hospital corners at the bottom, and tuck the rest of the sheet underneath. It's really not that much harder than using a fitted sheet.

If you're looking for other uses for sheets, consider table cloths, shower curtains, throw pillows, really anything!
One thing you can do is if they are of good quality is get a down comforter and make a duvet cover out of the sheets. I did this for my bed by taking 3 coinciding colors of sheets and sewing them together then taking a plain color and attaching it to the back. It is basically a big pillow case. Very easy to do and you can enclose it any way you like. I used a zipper on mine but you could use buttons or snaps. Good Luck!!!!
As long as the sheet is big enough you can tuck in around the corners of your mattress hotel's do it all the time its a lot cheaper on them to buy flat sheets then fitted. Or you can go to any local store and look in the linens department And they do sale this elastic band that has clips sewn on the ends to put on the corners of the sheet and around the bottom of the top mattress. I've used them and they hold your sheet in place. On what else to do. Your on the right track. Cover your furniture. Or you can even make a small corner wall to wall hammock with one . My mom did it for me when I had allot of stuff animals. If you put it up strong enough you could make a hammock for books extra.Or get cornstarch make like glue dip sheet into it and put it up on the wall flatten out and you'll have one of a kind cloth wall paper..Plus When you don't want it up there any more just wet it it will come off easy and wont take paint off unless the paint is real old.
