Should I fire a housekeeper who can't fold a fitted sheet?

I went into my linen closet and was apalled. The bed sheets were not neatly stacked. The fitted sheets were in big round balls. Obviously no attempt had been made to fold them and stack them neatly. I am not happy with this situation. I took out all the sheets and re-folded them myself. Some required ironing.Should I fire a housekeeper who can't fold a fitted sheet?
Has she always been doing this? Or not?

I would show her and if she doesn't learn or refuses to learn then...

I would get rid of her. She obviously can't take care of her assigned jobs in a good manner.Should I fire a housekeeper who can't fold a fitted sheet?
First of all, is this a permanent full time housekeeper?

If so, show her how you like things to be done - she can't read your mind and honestly, I can't fold one of those things - they are ridiculous. Some people don't use them, either, so she may have never had to do it before.

If she's not full time and is just an once a week or bi weekly person, that's generally not part of their job - their job is to come in and clean the bathrooms and kitchen from top to bottom, dust and vacuume, get rid of cobwebs, do all the floors, etc.

They are not there to do your laundry, etc. If you want her to do extra work, have her dust the floor boards or blinds, the top of the cupboards, do some windows, etc.

Then you will have time for your own laundry.
Sounds like you should do your own housekeeping. Who has time to iron sheets? They are for sleeping on. My word, if she is honest and dependable, she probably needs the job. She probably doesn't know how to fold a fitted sheet and what difference does it matter. Quit complaining on the Internet and ask if she knows how or what the problem was to begin with. Maybe she had too many other things to complete. Get your panties out of a wad and be glad in this day and time that you can afford a housekeeper.
If the sheets being folded a certain way is so important to your life, then I envy you for having nothing better to worry about!

I am an educated adult, and I have no idea how to fold a fitted sheet. The shape doesn't lend itself to be folded neatly. Have you tried showing your housekeeper how you want them to be folded?
Oh my, chuckle-chuckle. If that were the worst that my caregivers ever did. Do you ever find dirty dishes, protective gloves on your clean dishes, or waste baskets that were not emptied before she left? My caregiver/housekeeper and all of the same professions have their own little things that are not meeting our standards. However, my caregiver/housekeeper is so wonderful in so many other ways that the little things can be set aside. We who value our workers will let many things go because we are not perfect and cannot expect perfection. Be picky and you will not have anyone to ';picky up'; after you. Redo the work.
give her another chance, show her what you want,if you fire people for every wrong thing, all you will get done is interviewing new help.try this ,say nothing, make a note, watch ,see something make a note, also notice when it's right, then have a sit down talk it over, show her what she did and what you want...........tom
Show her how. . . although it does not sound like she really cares if they are balled up?!? That is just crazy. . . but it is your home, so it is up to you to show her exactly the way you want everything once maybe twice. . . If not, you will go through have a serious problem with eveyone one of your housekeepers, spending a lot of money in the process for a job that you have to redo anyway :)
There is truly a talent to folding a fitted sheet. I have seen instructions in women's magazines, but you might try printing them off of the web and telling her it must be done this way.
I wouldn't fire he/she on the spot. I would have a talk to them and ask if they know how to fold a fitted sheet? Then I would go from there.
I would show her how to fold a fitted sheet if the rest of her cleaning is OK. They are not easy to fold when you are first learning.....
Fire her. It's basic. There are plenty of people out there who need jobs who would do the job right.
