YOU DO NOT NEED TWO PEOPLE! If I had to have two people to fold my sheets, I would have baskets of laundry all over my house!
Folding a fitted sheet can be a frustrating task. Those elasticized corners, though convenient for keeping a sheet firmly in place on the bed, can become a jumbled mass when improperly folded. Fortunately, there is a relatively easy technique for folding these tricky linens neatly鈥攊t just takes patience, and a bit of practice.
Technique
Folding a Fitted Sheet
1. Start with your sheet inside out. While standing, hold the sheet in front of you, and place one hand in each of two adjacent corners.
2. Bring your right hand to your left, and fold the corner in your right hand over the one in your left hand, so that the corner on top is right-side out.
3. Keeping your left hand in place, reach down to the remaining two corners with your free hand, and tuck these corners into each other. Fold these corners over the first two. Your sheet should now be folded in quarters, with all four corners tucked inside one another.
4. Lay the sheet on a flat surface with the puckered end folded in over the flat part of the sheet. Touch up with an iron, if necessary, at this point. Fold two edges in, so all the elastic is hidden.
5. Fold the strip you have created into a rectangle, then continue folding until the rectangle is the size you want it to be.
Very easy! What is the best way to fold a fitted sheet?
This is so funny that you would ask this question. My mom was telling me about how she saw Martha Stewart on tv the other day demonstrating how to fold fitted sheets and mom has been folding them exactly the same way that Martha demonstrated. I usually don't have the patience to fold them, so I just wash the sheets and then put them back on my bed immediately after they come out of the dryer.
Anyway, getting to the substance....
You should try to get another person to help you fold the fitted sheet. Start by getting both people to grab each end of the sheets. At this point, there should be two people standing at both ends of the sheets with a corner in each hand (4 hands = 4 corners). Both parties will need to take one end of the sheet and fold it towards the other end on their side. You'll need to firmly tuck the end that you bring over up under the fitted part. Next, both parties start folding the very end of each side towards the middle and continue to do this until there is one long column that will be folded vertically. The fitted sheet will still be bulky, but it makes storage alot easier. I wish you alot of patience as you fold your sheets! You will need it! :o)
stetch the corners togather and bring them inwards..
