Is there a better way to fold a fitted sheet?

Other than just wading it up?Is there a better way to fold a fitted sheet?
My mom was a housekeeper for many years at a lodge in the mountains and I learned how to fold a fitted sheet, so I will try to explain how.

First start by holding it lengthwise

put your fingers in the pockets

bring the pockets together and fold one pocket over the other so they are 'nesting'

do the same to the ones that are at the bottom (that you aren't touching)

then turn the sheet sideways so your fingers are back in the pockets

bring the pockets together and fold all pockets over each other

square out one side of the pockets (like a hospital corner) and proceed to fold the sheet into a square to match the size of the folded flat sheet.

I hope that helps :DIs there a better way to fold a fitted sheet?
LOL, Wadding it up. How funny! I've been wadding up my fitted sheets forever. Just rolling them around my arm and folding that in half. How the heck else can it be done, right? Well, here is the real way to do it and it REALLY WORKS!!

I do it this way now and it makes me feel cool because I know something special, lol. I know things my grandmother didn't know. cool eh?

Here's How:

Slip your hand into 2 top corners of the sheet.

With one hand inside each of the top 2 corners, fold the sheet (right sides together).

Slip each of the top corners into one of the bottom corners.

Lay sheet on bed or table. Arrange and fold the corners neatly.

Turn in selvage edges enough to make 4 straight sides.

Fold in half, then in half again. (All four corners will be stacked together, and sheet will be in a long strip.

Then fold the long strip in half, then in half (or thirds, depending on the size of the sheet) again to make a square.

Sheet should be a compact, neat square.

Smooth and place on shelf.

Tips:

Learn how to fold sheets consistently so that they remain neat each time.

Store sheets in sets (flat, fitted, and cases) if that is how you use them.

Mark shelves with sheet sizes, or use different shelves for different size sheets.

For patterned sheets, by folding the bottom sheet inside out and the top sheet right side out, you'll be able to easily tell the difference.

Good luck with your fitted sheets.

Check out this site with a video to see the best way to fold a fitted sheet. It really does work.

I used to do it Martha's way, but this way is better. It doesn't take as long as the lady in the video!
Okay, now that you've mastered the fitted sheet, make a package of a flat sheet folded over a fitted sheet and 1 pillow case. Put this package into the 2nd pillow case. You now have a package for a bed to put in your linen closet, easy for anyone to find.
On each end insert the fitted seams into each other and smooth out. Then take one of the ends and fit those seams into the other. You should now have a square. Now fold as usual. If you want a video, the Martha Stewart site usually runs one that shows this procedure.
Haha, I don't think ';wadding it up'; actually qualifies as ';folding.'; But anyway, I'll usually just fold it into fourths length-wise, then roll them up like a sleeping bag or beach towel. They stay more compact that way.
